I should say this riddle was stitchery doubled, wouldn’t you? ;)

A rich, eccentric man approaches a striking young woman in a bar. She sees him approach and looks at him and smiles. When their eyes meet, the man notices that the young woman has heterochromia iridum, meaning that one eye is one color, and the other is another. Her left eye is the color of an emerald, her right the color of a topaz. This distinctive feature only increases he fellow’s attraction to the young lady, as he quite enjoys unusual things.
The man takes a seat at the bar to the left of the young lady and orders a drink. He then turns to her and clears his throat, pick-up line already prepared.
“Are you the gambling type?” he asks.
Coyly, she smiles. “Depends on what the wager is.”
“I’ll buy you a drink if I can guess your sign,” he says, “and that even if I’m wrong, you’ll be so charmed you’ll let me buy you a drink anyway.”
Having nothing to lose, the woman agrees to the wager.
The man leans in and whispers, “You’re a…” and then takes his shot at guessing.
The woman blushes prettily, but shakes her head. “You guessed wrong.”
“I figured I would,” he says solemnly. “You’re obviously worth far more than that.”
And as predicted, she is so charmed that she allows him to buy her another drink.
What did he guess?
I eat
(but never hunger)
Grow
(but never get taller)
I excel at hostile takeovers
(but am no businessman)
Sometimes leave
(but often come back)
am perfectly natural
(but am only killed by unnatural means)
What am I?
The heart.
Well, that was a three second diversion…
[[OOC: It was a very lovely riddle, though! It looks like you put a lot of work into it.
